My son was my model and as you see he didn't do the best. he was so worried about being seen outside in a shawl. :-O I still need to add fringes. I can not stand all the cutting of the strings, but I'm sure it will look better with them.

Lately I have been knitting and crocheting things that look like a challenge as you can see I have been successsful. I have to find the link to this pattern and post. I made this one night while sitting up chatting with my knit/crochet buddy Yvette. We are both night owls and stay up at night creating beautiful things for our family and friends.

That's me all bundled up in my new granny square hat and scarf set. This was very easy to make. I made both in about 3 hour to 4 hours while watching a movie. The hat fits my nogget perfectly. I actully extended my chain so my scarf could be longer as it gets very cold here in DC. Surprisingly, with the holes, the scarf and hat are very warm.

Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful! Here is the shawl I made for my mom. I think it was maybe 3 days to get it done. Used Red Heart Super Saver yarn to create this beauty. It's red with a lilac edging, not a color I would have chose, but this what she wanted. I have create another one in Redskin colors, it is gorgeous. Currently looking for a model so I can put up pictures of that creation as well. here is the link if you are interested. The pattern called for a size H needle, I used a K and for the redskin I used an N. Both look great!

The image is a tad dark. My first try at a crochet cable hat. I must say it turned out great!! If it gets very cold where you live then you should really try making one of these or get some one to make one for you. (for a small fee of course if you can not make yourself) A lot of work went into this creation, but well worth it.

Knitted this diaper cover for my cousin. She had the baby on October 9, 2009. A little girl named Kennedy. Maybe I will have a picture to post and soon as I get to meet the little one. I used Merino Wool for this diaper cover. I love the color. I had the opportunity to knit this in a class with the actual designer, Marie Connolly at StitchDC. I had a great time made some new freinds.

I had a nice time crocheting the kimono baby shoes. Not hard at all if you just follow the pattern be mindful of blo and flo, you will be fine. I made two left shoes, I need to make two right ones to match those. lol I know was moving fast and not paying an attention to that little detail. Honestly no one can tell unless you say something. I made these for a little guy, now I need to figure out a fastener that would be suitable. Once you make one you will surely want to make another. Something quick to make for a baby shower gift. My daughter wants some so, I need to try to make one for an adult or ask the designer.

Very easy to crochet. I have made several of these, thought I would share with my fellow crafters. They will go good with lots of things I suppose. I really enjoyed crocheting these. You can whip one out in maybe 1-3 hours.

I did not like the k3tog stitch at all. I did however get through a few rows, then I just wanted to do some mindless knitting. I didn’t have a problem with knitting socks 2-at-a-time. The book is very good, I will surely make another pair of socks from it.

I had a good time knitting these socks. It was the kind of project you wanted to knit more and more to see what it was going to look like. I enjoyed knitting with Bernat Sox yarn, it is very stretchy would be great for wide feet or for a diabetic. I completed the socks in a weeks time. I truly enjoyed the pattern. Look forward to knitting more. I knit these socks 2 at a time on 2 circulars (US2).

Now I’m so tired of entrelac but I’m sure in the future I will do it again. Once I got the hang of which way to go, I was ok. I love these baby socks. They will be going to a friend as a baby shower gift. Used Bernat Sox yarn purchased from www.herrschners.com and US2 needles. Added a ruffle edging on the top, crochet.

I love this new series on HBO called TrueBlood. Do you watch the show? Vampires living amongst the humans and they know it. The humans are not to fond of this, but they sell bottled blood for the vampires. I enjoy watching the show. O it is not for kids, it sometimes has a lot of sexual content.

Crochet a beanie for a girlfriend of mines, unfotunately the rim doesn't stretch. I was so hurt and she refuse to give it back. She loves it! I told her I would make another one, she still insisted on keeping this one. The next time I will do the rim portion in half double crochets, the have more stretch to them than single crochets.

10/29/08 - Finally, my Redskin BSJ is done. I purchased the logo from ebay and the barrel buttons from A.C. Moore. The buttons are 3/4”, darkwook. I tried to make the hood but the measurements was off so, I decided to do a collar. Which was very easy to knit. I’m so happy with my BSJ and glad it is finished.

Currently I'm knitting the Entrelac Socks by Eunny Jang. I recently finished the heel.

I started on my socks 10/14/08. I had no problem with the toes and thanks to the entrelac socks group, I didn’t have any holes knitting from the toes to the base triangle. I’m about to start on the second tier. I hope all goes over smoothly.
10/16/08 - I removed one sock from the ML and put on a circular needle. I could not figure out ML, but determined to make these socks.
10/17/08 - I’m on the second tier moving right along.
10/21/08 - I have finished the heel on my first sock and have started working on the leg portion.

So, I decided I would make my own. I think I did a pretty good job. The diaper cover itself is knitted and the skirt portion is crochet. The knit version of the skirt is coming in the near future. I love to challenge myself and this was a good challenge, but not very hard to accomplish. So, back to the designing board.

My latest knit creation skirt bags. I embellished the bags to look like cheeleader skirts. I used the lining to look like little undies under the skirts. I have so many ideas on what I want to do with these bags. They are really cute and the recipients just love them. I knit both of the bags together and just cute in half and stitched up the back. This is my own design and I'm so proud of my accomplishment. In the near future I will have a site up selling my patterns. Current project;Knitting 4 socks at once on the magic loop using the Crazy Toe and Heel book by Queen Kahuna. I use this method because the socks fit perfectly to my feet. I wanted to challenge myself so, we will see how this goes. To knit the socks, i'm using a size 1 knitpick circular needle, Kroys socks yarn (pink) and Bernat Sock Yarn (white). The both feel pretty much the same. I'm sure there is some difference, but I can not tell. I will keep you posted.

Isn't my bag lovely? I did a bag swap in the yahoogroup, Bag A Holics. I love my bag, it is gorgeous and nice and spacious. It has a nice size pocket on the front and is divded in two sections in the inside. Along with my bag KyleAnn sent me 13 skeins of 100% wool yarn. Yipppeeeee!! It looks to be homespun, but I'm not sure; I would need to ask her. Also she sent me three books. The look to be knitting mystery books.

I'm DEAD!! My socks arrived today from my killer. As you can see she killed me with some beautiful color socks. I love them! I was in the Death By Socks contest (yahoogroup). The game started on January 15, 2008 and I was taken out 11 days after the start. I would say I was in the game for a while. Kudos to all who received nice socks and big ups to those still in the contest.

This is my latest project. Nutkins socks Designed by Beth LaPensee for www.Knitzi.com. The socks are gorgeous. I'm using the hand spun and hand dyed merino superwash yarn in a few pics down. The cuff of this sock is so pretty. When I saw this pattern, I feel in love. I had to have a pair of these socks. You can not make out the pattern in this image. Recently, I joined a yahoogroup called Death By Socks. We used a pattern called Best Wishes by Jeanne Townsend to make sock for our victims. Everyone has a victim and an asassin. I finished my socks in 6 days, I probably could have done it faster, but wasn't able to knit as much as I would have liked to. Here are the socks for my victim. I hope she likes them.

I'm so happy about my greatest sock accomplishment. Both socks are completed, but only have a picture of one. I need to find me some nearby knitting buddies because my family and friends aren't as excited about my knee high socks as I am. I learned so much knitting the socks. I used the Queen Kahuna's, Crazy Toe and heel book to knit this beautiful work of art. One more thing I can knock off my list of things to do. I used the magic loop method, toe up. I used a size 2 needle for sock portion and then change to size zeros and did the ribbing. I don't like knitting with the 0s, but it's done now and was well worth it.

I'm finally done with my first knee high sock. Both socks were knitted on the magic loop at once up until the ribbing, on Addis US size 2. Then I separated them to do the ribbing on a size zero Addis, used the 2 circular method for the ribbing portion. I really don't like knitting with the size zero needles. I must say the stitches look very nice, but takes way too long. I know now is not the time to get the SSS (second sock syndrome), but I'm ready for a new project. They fit my foot, ankle and lower leg like a glove. I feel like the top may slide down. So, I have taken in the second sock a tad more. I don't think I will do another pair of these unless it is one color , striped or a variegated yarn. I used the Queen Kahuna method (Crazy Toes and Heels Sock Book). I must say the knee high sock feels great on my feet and leg, very very comfortable. Very nice sock experience.

I'm still knitting away on my knee high socks. I finished the heel. I love the feeling of accomplishment. Now saying that how can I do the first heel correctly no problem, start on the second heel and mess up. I can not tell you what I did wrong after the heel turn. I frogeed that portion of course and starting over. Let's see what happens.

I'm so proud of my latest bag. I designed and knitted the bag. I'm not sure what I'm going to call it. OK, I know I need to take some better backgrounds in my pictures. I will try to in the near future. Of course the back is chocolate and the top is pink, the bottom is rosewood. I love these colors. I still need to line the bag and put on the handles, iIm not sure what type of handles will be cute for the bag. Here is my almost finished messenger bag. This is a pattern I designed myself. This is the other bag for my bag swap partner. I used knitpicks Wool of Andes Yarn to knit this bag. I used double strand. I usually don't double the strands, but this turned out pretty nice. I had to wash it more than once to achieve the felted look I was pleased with. I will attach the button and ship it off.

Here is my version of a cell sock. I just used a top down version of a sock. Used size 3 circular needle. Knitted in rows. CO 40 then knit 12 rows k2, p2 ribbing and then I knit 33 rows in stockinette stitch. I did the kitchener stitch on the bottom and then sewn up the side. You can use I-Cord for the handle or you can do a single crochet and a slip stitch row. I really like how it turned out. I made one yesterday and made the other today. I just added the strap.

I finished my Alpine Dance Felted by Deby Lake from the Bag-a-holic yahoogroup. I thought it was going to be hard to knit, due to using more than one color on some rows (Fair Isle), but was a very easy knit. Here is a link to Deby's site so you can see more of her work.

I'm so excited, I made my first module. Here is a picture of my new harmony needles and my yarn I'm using for my Hyphen Boy Modular Felted Bag. My needles and yarns were purchsed from knitpicks.com. I'm using Wool of Andes 100% Peruvian Highland Wool.

These are my latest bags. The messenger bag is my own creation chestnut brown and natural mix color yarn. The retrowedge is from the Bag-A-Holic group from yahoogroups. Both were very easy knits. Again I'm stumped with the lining O well, the bags are gorgeous. Also undecided about the type of fasteners I will use. For the messenger bag I used size 11 needles and Chestnut Brown and Natural Mix Patons Classic Wool Merino Yarn. The retrowedge bag was knitted with the same yarn, just used different colors chestnut brown and rosewood. I love the way Patons Classic Merino Wool yarn knits up and felts. Looking through my blog, you will see I have used it on many of my bags.

The lining for this bag is gorgeous. Looks like someone threw paint on the fabric with a paint brush, very cute. I purchase this fabric from AC Moore, very inexpensive and it was already cut. This is the prism bag, from www.nonibags.com This was a very quick knit. If you look closely the image with the yellow and red balls has the zipper and lining attached. I'm still working on this one.

Here is the felted prism bag from www.nonibags.com I felted three bags in the machine at once and they came out of the pillow cases. Now they don't look so pretty, a lot of fuzz on them. I will have to shave them. So, be careful when felting more than one thing in the washer.

Here is the chinese food container after felting, it's fresh out the washer. I will shape it and do all teh finishing touches. This is my second design, I'm so proud of myself. It is a picture a few below of the bag unfelted. The brown string you see is just holding it together, that portion of the bag will have a zipper. I'm not sure what kind of handle I will use. I will post once it is completely done.

You are not able to view the bottom of my bag in this image, but I have purse feet on them. I still have to put the lining in ths bag. I hate sewing, it hurts my fingers. :-( She has instructions on her site to help you with the lining. So eventually I will put in the lining. I was so proud of myself.

This is the My Constant Companion bag, but i let it go through the whole wash, rinse and spin cycle. So, it is a tad smaller than what it should be. When you felt you learn things quickly. Here I used Lion's Bran Wool yarn. I used the colors Sage and Flower Garden. It was some left from making a bag for my God-mother. How ever I forgot to take pictures of that one. I can post the pre pictures of the bag.

This is the tote around bag. It was easy to knit, once I was off the bottom. I really don't like using dpns, but sometimes we have to to get the shape we need, like the circle botttom. This is another pattern I purchased from Janet Scanlon, http://www.knitkit.com/ I used Patons Classic Wool Merino yarn again. Colors Burgundy, Winter White and That's Pink. I really enjoyed knitting this bag once I was off the bottom, just mindless knitting.

Periwinkle and the other is Aran. The bag took approximately 2 hours to make. The Aran clutch has a zipper. This was my first time attaching a zipper. Whew how many times did I get stuck? You don't want to know. lol

My first ever felted bag was the Booga Bag. I made the little wallet to go with the bag. I use Wool of the Andes yarn from www.knitpicks.com. The colors used are Snickerdoodle Amber Heather and Wheat. As you can see they look gorgeous together. Once I felted this bag, I fell in love with felting and knitting using the larger needles (size 10.5). Since, I have knitted several others and designed 3 of my own. I would like to take more advertising pictures, but it is so much easier to snap them on the bed and upload. I should ahve had this bag up here 2 months ago. :-( I know I'm slow, but here you have it.

Here are the socks I finshed perhaps a couple of weeks ago for the yahoogroup, "EasySocks." The cable socks. I didn't put cable on the top of my sock as I don't like pattern son the top of my feet. As it turns out I gave the socks to my daughter.

Wanted to make these slippers for myself, but but found identical pattern for babies. I'm working on bootie number 2 and I will created my first I cord to thread through the holes. This sport weight yarn is so easy to knit with. I followed a pattern written for dpns but I used the magic loop. I'm so proud of myself. I'm really enjoying using the magic loop.

I'm overjoyed at the outcome of my first pair of slippers. I used the same yarn as I did for the hat. They are nice and comfy. I enjoy knitting on the loom. Knitting the hat and the slippers was not hard to do at all. So, now I'm going to try working on the hugging preemie sweater. I only have the the 4 KK looms so, I'm limited to what I can do. Once I get the hang of the stitches and get much more familiar with the techniques I will purchase more looms.

I'm so happy to finish another pair of socks. These are my first pair of worsted weight slippers and magic loop. Knitted with a size 5 knitpick interchangeable needles. I'm very happy with my finished results.

Finally finished Queen Kahuna, Crazy Toe and Heel Socks. I love the way they look. I wanted the heel to be red as well, but wasnt sure when to change the color. I used Bernat Sox Yarn, which I really like working with, but it is now discontinued. wah wah A few sites still sale it (www.herrschners.com). I used a US 2 (Addis) needles to knit these babies up. I'm so proud of my accomplishments. Took me forever and a day to get them done, but well work knitting each and every stitch. I really made a mess of the pattern on the leg og the sock (the white portion) . The lace rib pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks, on page 44. The next go around I will only knit when I can focus using a pattern. :-)

My progress on my first Crazy Toe and Heel sock. I'm using Bernat Sox yarn, Red (#0705) Price: $1.27, per 50 gr skein. A very good price and it is knitting up nice. Off to change the color to white. My goal is to have the toe, heel and ribbing red and the rest of the sock white.

Here are the finished socks. This is one project I'm glad I'm finished with. I made these socks on 2 circulars following the 2 socks on 2 circulars by Nenah Galati. I used Cervinia Cervinia Calzetteria yarn from www.smileysyarn.com Have no clue what my next product will be.

My first try at two socks on two circulars. I'm using the video by Nenah Galati. The heel of the sock on the left is flipped noticed once I posted, but they both are the same size. I love working on circulars. I doubt if I go back to dpns (double pointed needles). For the socks I'm using Cervinia Calzetteria sock yarn from www.smileysyarns.com the color is charcoal heather grey. I'm so proud of my success. I should be finished very soon.
