Here is the hat I made for my son. I like the swirl portion.

Isn't it great when you get the swirl going? I really like this part of hat knitting. I decided once to try, instead of k2 together decreases, I did ssk decreases. It reverses the swirl. You still follow the same order of decreases,for example, k11, k2 together; next round, k10, k2 together, etc.. You just replace the k2 together with a slip, slip, knit(ssk); I never get tired of knitting the swirl. It's a cute hat! Ya done good!
